I have watched this movie many years ago. This movie is mainly about the Tang Sanzang. It starts out with the arrival of Sanzang and his 3 disciples to the Shache city. Then a demon shows up (I think he is a tree demon) with all his minions. Wu Kong fights with the demon, but fail to beat him. Wu Kong has no choice but to wrap Sanzang to his magic cudgel and throw him far away from the demons. Wu Kong, Bajie, and Wu Jing all get capture, while the flying Sanzang landed to a demon lair. There he meets a young lizard imp named Mei Yan (Charlene Choi). She is very ugly, as you could see in the picture below.


Anyway, Mei Yan falls in love with Sanzang and she is willing to go with him to help rescue his 3 disciples. She sticks with him during his fight training. The other demons also help. And also he met a princess from outer space name Xiaosha (Fan Bing Bing). She's willing to help Sanzang in the fight to rescue his disciples too.

During the training I believe they, Sanzang and Mei Yan, went to a realm where they kill the 4 imperial gods.

For that they will pay later. During their time together, Sanzang eventually fall in love with Mei Yan.


Mei Yan later discover her true identity. She is actually one of the space warrior. Then she transform into a beautiful "angel". She went to help Sanzang rescue his disciples and kill the demons.


After the battle, Mei Yan surrenders to be punished for killing the gods. Sanzang is angry and rebels against heaven. (awesome ) But he is no match for all those gods in heaven. Wu Kong manages to hold the Jade Emperor hostage but it was too late. The bleeding Sanzang try to crawl to the tied up Mei Yan. With his last breath he manages to said "I love you" to Mei Yan by hand signal.



Then Buddha show up and promise to save Sanzang's life under 1 condition. That is Sanzang must go on a journey to the west to get the sutras. And so begin the Journey to the West.
